WASHINGTON, D.C, – Today, Senator Jim Banks (R-Ind.) voted to pass the One Big Beautiful Bill Act.
The bill includes the biggest tax cut for working class Americans in history, a historic investment in border security, and funding to ensure our military has the resources it needs to keep America the most powerful nation in the world. It also makes the largest federal spending cut in history.
The bill will now go to the U.S. House of Representatives for a vote.

Key Provisions of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act:
- $1.6 trillion reduction in federal spending
- $175 billion in funding for border security and mass deportations
- Funding to hire 18,000 ICE, customs, and border patrol officers and double capacity at detention facilities
- Eliminate taxes on tips, overtime, and social security for working class Americans
- Protect Medicaid for our most vulnerable by removing 1.4 million illegal immigrants and implementing work requirements for abled-bodied Americans who are not caregivers
- $150 billion to strengthen and modernize our military, including:
- $25 billion for the Golden Dome
- $29 billion for ship building
- $23 billion to resupply munitions and rebuild critical mineral supply chains
