Key Excerpts Below:
Sen. Banks: “President Trump has been clear every step of the way. Iran can never have a nuclear weapon. I mean, that’s what these negotiations are all about. That’s what this war is about. Any terms that fall short of that is unsuccessful. And by the way, Laura, President Trump, every step of the way, has warned the Iranians. He’s given them timelines. He’s told them exactly what he’s going to do. Drop the nuclear program. Stop funneling money to terrorist proxy groups and open the straights or we’re going to bomb the hell out of you. And President Trump has kept his word every step of the way. The Iranians know that and that’s why they’re begging to come back to the table to continue these negotiations. I have a sense that we’re in the final stages of all of this. Vice President Vance’s efforts last week was a good signal… these negotiations will move in the right direction as the Iranians realize what stands in front of them next Tuesday when this cease-fire is over, come to their senses, come back to the table, drop the nuclear program forever.”

Sen Banks: “Well, there’s nothing more demoralizing to our troops who are in the fight, who are fighting in a war to keep America safe and secure, than to watch the Democrats and the media cheer against the commander-in-chief and the very efforts that they’re a part of. I mean, it’s shameful that they would cheer against our troops in that kind of a way. So, shame on the Democrats for that and the media for joining them.”

Sen. Banks: “It’s a great point because 80% of Iran’s oil goes to China. So the blockade is weakening China as President Trump is seeking a better trade deal with our biggest enemy to put American workers first. So it’s a great point, but I think it gives the president even more leverage when he goes to Beijing.”
