Veterans History Project
Hoosiers have stepped up to serve in the United States Armed Forces for generations, or have family members, friends, and loved ones who have answered this call to service. Senator Banks’ office has teamed up with the Library of Congress Veterans History Project to help record and preserve these veterans’ stories for future generations.
As a US Navy veteran, Senator Banks knows firsthand of the tremendous sacrifices veterans have made defending our country. 550,000 veterans call the state of Indiana home. These veterans are the fabric of our society, and each has a story to tell.
The Veterans History Project (VHP) was created by Congress in 2000 to collect and preserve the first-person narratives from United States military veterans from World War I through present day.
