President Trump signs Indiana senator’s first federal bill into law

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – Indiana Senator Jim Banks joined President Trump at the White House on Tuesday for the signing of his first bill into federal law.

A release from Senator Banks’ office says the bipartisan bill, co-led by Democratic Senator Mark Warner of Virginia, would provide transparency to ensure the Bureau of Industry and Security is upholding an effective export control system and preventing U.S. adversaries from getting easy access to key defense goods or national security technologies. The bill requires the BIS to provide an annual report to congress including a report on all export control enforcement activities and information about every applicant and recipient of a license.
